So You Have an Idea?

You’ve got your business idea, but you need to prepare for the market and commercialization and understand how your idea needs to be qualified and reinforced for success. Using the Business Model Canvas and Value Proposition Design, we will teach you how to make these tools work for you and why they are important when evaluating a business idea. Because of the canvas’ dynamic and pliable nature, they can be used throughout the initial ideation stages and into future business development for things like pivoting, growth, and maintaining an optimal state when bringing your business to life. The canvas’ can also be used to develop your formal Business Plan down the line.

Session activities and materials:

• Introduction to Entrepreneurship 101 – Foundations Module (6-week) and syllabus review
• Introduction to Ideation, the Business Model Canvas (BMC), and Value Proposition Design (VPD)
• Ideation and Assessment – What it is and how to do it
